Course Overview

Course Objectives

The EFAW course helps participants:

  • Understand their role as a workplace first aider
  • Identify and manage common workplace medical emergencies
  • Learn effective CPR and defibrillator protocols
  • Apply safe and effective techniques to assist injured or unwell colleagues

  • Be able to assess and treat an unresponsive casualty

  • Be familiar with legal requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

What’s Covered in the Emergency First Aid Training Course

Jason Rowley Training’s EFAW course covers both practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Key areas include:

Course Delivery

Candidates must demonstrate their competence in emergency response to receive certification.

Certification:
Successful candidates receive a three-year-valid Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. Jason Rowley Training also recommends an annual refresher session in accordance with HSE best practices.

What are the legal requirements of the workplace?

Employers have an obligation under the health and safety (first aid) regulations 1981 to make adequate and appropriate provision for their workforce. Within the Utility industry first aid provision may be more detailed and include a surplus of medical equipment due to the greater risks involved in the workplace.
