Course Structure and Content

Our First Aid & AED Training at Work is delivered in person, providing a blend of theoretical learning and practical, hands-on training. Whether you’re attending at our Manchester venue or at your own site across the UK (subject to minimum group requirements), the course ensures that participants engage directly with training materials and equipment.

Course Overview:

The three-day First Aid at Work course covers a wide range of emergency scenarios, including:

  • CPR and adult resuscitation techniques
  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to save lives during sudden cardiac arrest
  • How to manage spinal injuries, head injuries, and fractures

Course Delivery: In-Person for Maximum Engagement

We deliver this first aid at work course either at our Manchester training centre or at your chosen site across the UK (subject to minimum numbers). Each session is interactive and designed to maximise practical engagement with group exercises, roleplay, and live demonstrations.

Unlike online courses, this training requires face-to-face participation to ensure you gain the hands-on experience needed to support others in an emergency.

AED Training Included

Our First Aid at Work training integrates AED training, allowing you to confidently respond to sudden cardiac arrest. You’ll learn how to:

  • Identify cardiac arrest quickly
  • Perform CPR and use the AED efficiently
  • Save lives with timely intervention

Training in AED operation is crucial for workplaces equipped with defibrillators, where quick access to this life-saving equipment can make all the difference.

AED & CPR Training (Half-Day):

A crucial component of first aid emergencies involves AED training. Our half-day course teaches participants how to correctly identify cardiac arrest, administer CPR, and use AED devices efficiently to provide life-saving care.

Who Should Attend the AED and First Aid at Work Training Course?

This training is designed for designated first aiders, supervisors, and appointed persons responsible for workplace first aid provision. It is particularly suitable for those working in high-risk environments such as:

  • Construction and engineering
  • Utilities and gas services
  • Manufacturing, warehousing, and transportation
  • Remote work sites where access to emergency services may be delayed

However, this training is also valuable for any workplace, from small offices to large organisations. Employers are legally required to ensure their teams are equipped to respond to medical emergencies, and first aid training is a vital part of that responsibility.

Legal Responsibility for Employers

Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, employers must provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure immediate medical attention is available. The level of first aid provision should be based on the risk assessment of the workplace, considering factors like number of employees, the nature of activities, and past incident history.

Jason Rowley Training helps employers meet these requirements by offering reliable, affordable, and industry-compliant training.
