SCO RO Renewal (Module 4) is a mandatory update for those performing routine gas works across gas distribution networks. The SCO scheme ensures that individuals working on the gas network are trained to do so safely by understanding gas network procedures and correct Permitry. The SCO scheme is the knowledge-based part of a Competent Person’s or Authorising Engineer’s route to network registration and is followed by the competence-based part of the overall requirement.

For individuals new to SCO or whose registration has expired the course must be completed in a classroom. For those that need to renew a current registration there is the option to do an online course.
SCO courses are delivered on request so please contact us to arrange a suitable date. We have a venue in Manchester but can provide the course at a venue of your choosing anywhere in the UK.
The cost of training includes EUSR registration, a virtual card, and a plastic smart card.
All candidates must possess a current SHEA Gas registration.
A combination of written and practical assessments within the classroom are carried out.
SCO registration lasts for five years from the date the course started.
The SCO 23 is a mandatory requirement for Cadent Contractors and is a recent requirement, which is why you may not have heard about it. Without it you will not be able to get your STC (Safety Technician Competent).
