TEM 2-4
Below you can view the currently scheduled available dates for this training:
At Jason Rowley Training, we deliver the TEM 2–4 Training Course for professionals who work around live underground utilities. This course provides the essential safe dig training and basic safety training required to prevent damage, reduce risk, and ensure full compliance with EL6 Gas and utility industry standards.
The TEM 2–4 course is a key part of the EL6 qualification pathway, helping individuals gain the competence, knowledge, and training certificates required to work safely near electrical and gas distribution networks. It combines classroom-based theory, practical assessment, and operational procedures to ensure every delegate understands how to dig, plan, and verify safely before any work takes place.
Whether you’re part of a gas, electrical, construction, or maritime team, this course ensures your work meets industry regulations and demonstrates technical competence under the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) standards.
The TEM 2–4 training (Modules 2 and 4) forms a core component of the EL6 Gas certification process. It delivers both theory and hands-on assessments to help workers understand safe excavation practices and utility safety procedures in accordance with STCW requirements (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping).
This course develops a clear understanding of safe dig utilities practices, risk control measures, and basic safety principles when working on or near live systems. You’ll learn to interpret utility drawings, identify hazards, and apply approved excavation procedures confidently.
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a training certificate confirming your competence and supporting your application for EL6 Gas registration.
TEM Modules 2–4 is part of Cadent’s recognised EL6 training pathway. These modules are crucial in equipping candidates with the practical and safety knowledge necessary to work safely in electrically sensitive areas across Cadent-controlled gas sites.
This one-day, instructor-led course covers both the theoretical and hands-on elements necessary for qualification. The training concludes with both a written assessment and a practical test to ensure full competence across all relevant disciplines.
Duration: 1 Full Working Day
Location: Jason Rowley Training – Manchester Training Centre (or on-site by arrangement)
